Recombinant Tissue Factor (TF)
A growth factor-like protein for tissue regeneration
- Found as membrane associated
- Recently found also as soluble (either encrypted in microvesicle or not)
- TF revised role in coagulation
- initiator
- thrombus growth
- Recent findings indicate that tissue factor has other roles besides (following) coagulation (wound healing)
- Angiogenesis
- TF KO mouse lethality due to failure in vascular dev.
- Tumor growth (angiogenesis)
- Cell Chemotaxis
- mAb anti-TF> reduced migration of fibroblast, monocyte
- Up-regulation of IL-8 (tumor metastasis)
- Inflammation
- Up-regulation of proinflammatory cytokines mRNA (FVIIa –TF)
- Arthritis development in joint of mice (sTF/LPS)
