Recombinant Tissue Factor (TF)
A growth factor-like protein for tissue regeneration
  • Found as membrane associated
  • Recently found also as soluble (either encrypted in microvesicle or not)
  • TF revised role in coagulation
    • initiator
    • thrombus growth
  • Recent findings indicate that tissue factor has other roles besides (following) coagulation (wound healing)
  • Angiogenesis
  • TF KO mouse lethality due to failure in vascular dev.
  • Tumor growth (angiogenesis)
  • Cell Chemotaxis
  • mAb anti-TF> reduced migration of fibroblast, monocyte
  • Up-regulation of IL-8 (tumor metastasis)
  • Inflammation
  • Up-regulation of proinflammatory cytokines mRNA (FVIIa –TF)
  • Arthritis development in joint of mice (sTF/LPS)
